Master of Fine Arts in Acting

Refine your on-screen and stage approach with the Master of Fine Arts in Acting in Temple’s School of Theater, Film and Media Arts. This 60-credit, full-time master’s degree is specifically tailored for professional theater actors who aspire to develop and enhance their artistic growth. If you intend to pursue a career in education, you’ll learn to effectively articulate the creative process to your future students. The intimate program provides classical training based on the conservatory model.

Many graduates of the Acting MFA have pursued careers in film and television, as well as on and off Broadway.

You’ll learn from faculty members who are committed to your personal development as an actor and the evolution of American theater and film.

Tuition & Fees

In keeping with Temple’s commitment to access and affordability, this Master of Fine Arts offers a competitive level of tuition with multiple opportunities for financial support.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2024–2025 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $1,221.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,634.00 per credit
